Hi Pleaseresearch. It's great that you're in a position to speak with other JWs "under the radar" - please be careful not to say or do anything that could jeopardize that. Despite the March 2018 broadcast, it would seem that elders are going around distributing verbal rumours that "the organization has changed it's policies". Sadly, this is at best "wishful thinking". The truth is, if any elder uses their conscience and calls the police then they will be crushed under the boots of the 'ateful eight. Check this sad recent case where elders in Ireland used their conscience and contacted the police...only to be stamped on: https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5660134124552192/irish-elders-deleted-watchtower-reporting-child-sex-abuse-allegation-police

You MUST Sign the Data Collection Form "...obey...whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.¨"
by gone for good inthe many and complex issues surrounding the collection of person data and new laws aiming to protect individuals control of their own privacy, seem to have hatched about the same time as the governing body expressed their hope that it´s own 8 million would obey their order to "sign this form" effectively transfering total authority over privacy and data issues over to the borg.. what are your thoughts on this coincidence?.
zuckerberg lost billion$$ when people realized that he had prostituted their personal data and now wt wants the same signed access that he had to info that is $$$.... wt already owns all the real estate and now wants to own all the data.... it´s a current and global issue - please share your thought with the rest of us here.. .

In the UK, only "IBSA" International Bible Students Association (setup in 1914 as the UK arm of Watchtower) is legally registered to store your data. Here's the UK government listing for IBSA: https://ico.org.uk/ESDWebPages/Entry/Z5281400

GDPR: Get your data from the UK Branch now, before 25-May-2018
by Fay Dehr inget your data from the uk branch now, before gdpr kicks in on 25-may-2018.
use this free template letter, which has been tried and tested.
under uk law they can (and will) delay their reply if you miss out any of the important points in the template letter - for example they are allowed to ask for "costs" from you (£10 is an established fee in the data industry), or if you fail to prove your identity by means of passport or driver's license.
-

Notice in the template that (1) it's clearly a non-religious request, and (2) the template denies them from contacting the local congregation or CO about your request. You're safe - local elders will not have a clue!

Because after 25-May-2018 their GDPR policy claims it will infringe their religion to delete your data. Get it now, and delete it, before they start whimpering about you infringing their religion.
Plus, as a bonus, wouldn't it be interesting if so many requested their data that they failed to reply to someone within the 40 day limit - and got reported to the ICO?

Actually, under existing UK law they're already on slippery legal ground holding info at local congregation level. In the UK any organisation holding data needs to be registered. Presently service reports are only kept in written form, with your name | address | DOB | email | phone | role [pioneer/servant/elder] | "mental state" (sorry, their definition is "O/S or Anointed?"). They already have the database for storing all of this online, which is clearly where this is heading...rapidly.

GDPR: help for PIMOs
by Fay Dehr inwe urgently need to offer "resistance strategy" help to pimos who are likely to be harassed by elders seeking their consent for wtbt$ to leech their data.
what questions could pimos ask elders, that elders would be unable to answer?
(thus buying time, because elder would need to "check with branch").

Right! Actually, someone should begin a useful post where we can collate JW "double-speak" phrases - this may help the inexperienced to truly 'read between the lines' when trying to unravel their literature. Example:
- "faithful slave" (Your masters and overlords)
- "encourage" (to force, bully, or beat into feeling of low self-worth)
- "your rights" (_BLANK_) <<< accompanied by stifled evil snigger...

(Can also be used to extract juicy data from "local charities" - your local Kingdom Hall)

- If you take a look at this study (https://news.stanford.edu/news/2012/october/kgb-domestic-surveillance-100212.html), you'll see that the former Soviet USSR described as follows:
When KGB agents wanted to "get to know you," finds Weiner, they wanted more than your address, your occupation, your hobbies or the names of your friends.
They wanted to know what and how people were thinking. And, in almost all cases, they wanted to fundamentally change that way of thinking. The WTBT$ are ready to take this to the next level. Posts on this forum over the years reveal that ALREADY they've been compiling dossiers on members. Some have managed to obtain copies of data kept on them locally and at branch level. To agree to their GDPR policy is giving them legitimate authority to:
- Record your financial transactions on JW.org
- Record your entire internet browsing history by means of cookie tracking
- Record your emails
- Record your social networking
- Record your phone calls
- Build character profile
- Build psychological profile
- Access your entire medical record history
- Access your child's school files
- Monitor how and when you have sex
- Record, profile and use data about your every breath...and share that with North Korea
If that seems overly dramatic, just check the form - please correct me if ANY of the outrageous statements above are exempt from their planned surveillance.

We urgently need to offer "resistance strategy" help to PIMOs who are likely to be harassed by elders seeking their consent for WTBT$ to leech their data.
- What questions could PIMOs ask elders, that elders would be unable to answer? (Thus buying time, because elder would need to "check with branch")
- What reasons or replies could PIMOs give when interrogated, to " politely " refuse permission?
Comments here could be of real help, and spare some from further harassment down the line.

Feeling pressure to attend the Memorial?
by Fay Dehr infeeling pressure to attend the memorial?.
as a former elder i write this response to hopefully help those genuinely feeling “guilt” before their god.
if you are a jehovah’s witness or an “ex-jw” (for example, disfellowshipped or lapsed), then i hope that this will be of help to you.
